Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really made entirely of paper?
Yes. The only building material needed is paper. Any stiff paper will work, like card stock or photo paper. We prefer matte photo paper for a sharp image and it is relatively inexpensive ($5-$10 for a 50-sheet package at most office supply stores).
Is paper strong enough?
Yes, once the paper is scored, folded, and glued, the blox become quite strong. When the Paperblox are combined to form a module, they become even stronger. They are definitely more than strong enough to hold as many action figures you can fit into your playset!
What tools do I need?
All you need (besides a printer) is a ruler, X-Acto knife, and a glue stick. The PaperBlox system was designed specifically to be made with ordinary household tools. We prefer glue sticks, but you can use thin coats of tacky glue or experiment with other adhesives of your choice.
Are there any special skills required?
You need to be able to cut a straight line, but of course you can use a ruler! The simple instructions tell you how to cut, score, and glue the shapes together. There are only 4 different shapes to make and once you make a few, you'll be a pro. All the pictures in our book are of playsets made by a first-time PaperBlox builder!
How big can I build my playset?
You can build it as tall, wide, or deep as you like. The tallest we've seen so far is over 6 feet tall! Each individual module stands just over 6" tall.
